Anti-doping
BTA-sanctioned competition is conducted under World Triathlon rules. The World Anti-Doping Code, the World Triathlon Anti-Doping Rules, and the annual WADA Prohibited List apply to all participants in sanctioned events.
- Strict liability: athletes are responsible for any prohibited substance found in their system, regardless of intent.
- Medications & supplements: check every product against the Prohibited List; some medications require a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) before use.
- Testing: in-competition and, where applicable, out-of-competition testing may be carried out under World Triathlon and WADA procedures.
- Education: know your clean-sport obligations before you race — ignorance is not a defence.
